American Bar forms Pakistan body

WASHINGTON, Feb 20: The international law and practice section of the American Bar Association has announced the creation of a Pakistan sub-committee of the South and Southeast Asia law committee to develop and maintain strong links between Pakistan and America in the legal sphere.

A press release says the South and Southeast Asia law committee of the ABA's international law and practice section encompasses India, Bhutan, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, and the countries of Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, the Philippines, and Brunei.

The creation of a special Pakistan Sub-Committee, which is headed by Mahnaz Malik, recognises the need for effective communication and co-operation between the legal communities of Pakistan and America.
