Ramiz trying to sabotage tour: PWCCA

By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, Feb 12: Pakistan Women Cricket Control Association (Shaiza Khan Group) on Thursday alleged that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief executive Ramiz Raja was trying to sabotage the proposed tour of the West Indies women cricket team to Pakistan.

In a press statement the PWCCA said thatthe West Indies women team was scheduled to visit Pakistan from March 13 to April 5 to play seven ODIs and one Test match.

The press release stated that PCB chief executive Ramizwrote a letter to his West Indies counterpart Roger Brathwaite requesting that the tour be cancelled.

"It is surprising for the executive committee of PWCCA to learn of this move of PCB's CEO as Ramiz had personally approachedthe PWCCA at the PCB seminar held in Karachi last month and had extended his full support, saying the grounds are yours and we will definitely give them to you for the said series," claimed the statement.

It was at Ramiz's suggestion that PWCCA wrote a letter of request to the PCB for the use of the National Stadium towhich the PCB, instead of replying to the PWCCA wrote to West Indies to cancel the tour.
