RAWALPINDI: Rs2 million projector stolen from army mess

RAWALPINDI, Feb 12: Robbers and thieves struck at four places in Rawalpindi and deprived people of cash, prize bonds and gold ornaments, police said on Thursday.

Mirza Ali Khan, an employee at the GHQ Artillery Mess, the Mall, lodged an FIR with the RA Bazaar police, saying that unidentified thieves broke into the Mess during Eid holidays and took away a multimedia projector, valuing Rs2127,500.

In another incident, unidentified men took away a motorcycle (RIY-5672) from the house of Mohammad Jalees Arif in the RA Bazaar. Ms Naz told Sadiqabad police that she had gone to meet her relatives.

On return she found regular income certificates, special saving certificates valuing Rs130,000, prize bonds worth Rs4,500 and 11 tola gold jewellery stolen. Three unidentified robbers snatched Rs19,000 from Kashif Jamil in the jurisdiction of Airport police and escaped in a car.

KILLED: A man was shot dead in Bari Imam shrine area on Thursday. Police said Imran and Ibrar Khan had a brawl while they were collecting woods in a jungle. Ibrar took out a pistol and shot at Imran and escaped. The injured was taken to the Federal Government Services Hospital where he died.
