Plantation campaign launched in Poonch


MUZAFFARABAD, Feb 8: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir's Forest Department has launched plantation campaign throughout Poonch division. In this connection a briefing was arranged by the Reforestation division at Poonch in Bagh, the other day.

AJK Minister for Electricity Sardar Mir Akbar Khan and Raja Muhammad Yasin Khan MLA who hail from Bagh were specially invited to attend the briefing.

Conservator of the Forest Department Dr Shafiq ur Rehman, the Divisional Forest Officer, Reforestation Division, Rawalakot Chaudhry Shah Muhammad, Range Officer of Bagh Hamid Butt, Range Officer Forward Kahuta Sardar Muhammad Latif and other officers of the Forest department also attended the briefing.

The Forest officers told that besides providing the saplings for plantation, the reforestation division has also made arrangements for the provision of technical assistance for plantation and to ensure preservation and protection of saplings, as the plantation of Devdar and Kail were being planted in different parts of the area to increase forest land.
