Karachi team's final trials today


KARACHI, Feb 7: Selectors have invited 42 cricketers for the final round of trials to select Karachi regional team for one-day tournament and Quaid-i-Azam Cricket Trophy.

Probables included two former Pakistan captains Moin Khan and Rashid Latif and Test cricketers Muhammad Sami, Danish Kaneria, Shahid Khan Afridi, Shadab Kabir, Faisal Iqbal, Asim Kamal and Atiq-uz-Zaman.

Chief selector Abdul Raquib said on Saturday that except for Moin, Rashid, Kaneria and Farhan all the other players reported for trials.

He hoped these four players would attend the trials tomorrow. The other members of the selection committee Sadiq Muhammad, Aftab Baloch and Asif Ahmed also watched the trials.

Raquib said a 20- member squad and five reserves will be named after Sunday's trials which start at 10.am.

Probables invited for final trials are: Shadab Kabir, Agha Sabir, Maisam Hasnain, Muhammad Ghazan, Faisal Iqbal, Hasan Raza, Saeed bin Nasir, Asim Kamal, Nomanullah, Farhan Adil, Shahid Afridi, Rizwan Qureshi, Danish Kaneria, Tahir Khan, Irfanullah, Muhammad Sami, Tanvir Ahmed, Nasir Khan, Asim Zaidi, Adeel Malik, Muhammad Hasnain, Arif Mahmood, Asif Zakir, Asadullah Sumeiri, Fawad Alam, Khurram Manzoor, Faraz Patel, Waqas Haroon, Fahad Iqbal, Atif Zaidi, Zeeshan Pervez, Moin Khan, Rashid Latif, Atiq-uz-Zaman, Imran Javed, Imranullah, A.Qadir, Aamir Junaid, Sharif Asadullah, Tabish Khan, Muhammad Ali Zafar, Ghulam Qadir.-APP
