Selectors ignore Shahid, Waqar

LAHORE, Feb 7: Waqar Younis and Shahid Afridi failed to get a place in the list of 22 probables announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the forthcoming home series against India on Saturday.

Only off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq could make a comeback in the training camp which begins at the Gaddafi Stadium from Feb 24.

All the players will report at the camp on Feb 23. The 14- member team for the first Test will be announced on March 8 while the selectors will name the team for the three-day opener by the end of this month.

Probables: Imran Farhat, Taufeeq Umar, Yasir Hameed, Yousuf Youhana, Inzamamul Haq (captain), Asim Kamal, Misbah-ul-Haq, Younis Khan, Bazid Khan, Faisal Iqbal, Abdul Razzaq, Shoaib Malik, Saqlain Mushtaq, Danish Kaneria, Moin Khan (wicketkeeper), Shoaib Akhtar, Mohammad Sami, Shabbir Ahmed, Umar Gul, Rana Naveedul Hassan, Rao Iftikhar, Shadab Kabir.
