KARACHI: Protection of residential rights stressed

KARACHI, Feb 7: The Chief Controller of Buildings, Brig (Retd) A.S. Nasir, has suggested the residents of highrise buildings to form joint cooperative society for the protection of their residential legal rights.

The cooperative society would also help in the maintenance of the buildings and control on construction of illegal buildings, he said.

The CCOB pointed out that the misuse of approved parking spaces in highrise buildings and construction of illegal structures in place were not only creating problems for the area residents, but also for the common citizen.

He said the cooperative society would help KBCA in solving such problems.

Brig Nasir said that most of the traffic jams occurred due to misuse of approved car parking, which was causing problems to residents directly and citizens indirectly.

He said keeping this in view, vigorous measures were being taken by the KBCA for restoration of approved car parking for which cooperation of residents was required.

The KBCA was taking steps to check misuse of car parking and to restore their legal use in the most affected areas, particularly Saddar Town. -APP
