KARACHI: 30pc water goes waste
KARACHI, Feb 5: Managing director, Karachi Water and Sewerage Board, Brig Asif Ghazali, has expressed concern that about 30 per cent water is being wasted due to leakage in supply lines
and absence of gate or float valves in underground tanks of residential buildings.
He was talking to the KWSB engineers and staff during his visit to city pumping stations on Eidul Azha, to review the steps taken for judicious distribution of water to the city.
Brig Ghazali directed the engineers to take swift steps for repairs of water leakages in lines to save potable water from being wasted.
He said since the restoration of water supply from the Hub Dam, sufficient water was being provided to all localities of the city, however, due to absence of gate or float valves in residential buildings' tanks, a huge quantity of water overflows and affects roads.
He appealed to the people to consume water carefully, saying it was a blessing of God and should be made available to everyone. - PPI
