KARACHI: Rangers, police put on alert

KARACHI, Feb 1: Security arrangements have been made to maintain peace in the province on Eidul Azha, with orders of no public harassment, Home Advisor Aftab Shaikh said.

Talking to APP on Sunday, he said that the Rangers and police personnel had been put on alert, and their vacations had been cancelled. He said that fool proof arrangements had been made to ensure safety of the people at all the places where Eid prayer would be held.

He said that additional force had been deployed at sensitive areas in the city and elsewhere in the province. He said that the patrolling of the law-enforcing agencies would be increased, besides directives to conduct snap-checking. Mr Shaikh said that the secret cameras, installed at various important places in the city, had been activated.
