HYDERABAD, Jan 31: The clerical staff of lower district courts on Friday boycotted work in protest against the civil judge.
Record keeper Zulfikar Memon was directed by the first senior civil judge Naeem Siddiqui to retrieve record and proceedings of five cases of the court.
Mr Memon said he had handed over the record to a peon.
He said when he came on Friday, he was handcuffed with a window under the orders of the civil judge. Then he was locked up in the premises of the court.
After this the staff suspended their work and met in charge sessions judge, Khadim Tunio, who ordered release of Mr Memon.
The staff came to the press club and disclosed details of the incident.
A delegation of the court staff, comprising Zulfikar Memon, Shafi Mohammad, Khuda Bux Palijo and Imran met senior high court judge of Hyderabad circuit bench, Justice Mohammad Musa K. Leghari.
