KARACHI, Jan 24: Judicial Magistrate Mehboob Ali Dayoo of Karachi East remanded Shamim Ahmed alias Shami, an activist of the banned Lashkar-i-Jhangvi arrested in explosive and arms cases a week back, in police custody till Jan 26 in a fresh arms case.

He was produced on Saturday before the court for obtaining police remand in respect of the case pertaining to the recovery of five rockets and ammunition from an abounded house in Hyderabad Colony Karachi.

Police said the accused, during interrogation, led the police personnel to the abandoned house where they found five rockets and live bullets of submachine gun and light machinegun.

He was earlier remanded by the magistrates concerned in two explosives and arms cases lodged in two separate police stations in Karachi. - PPI
