By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Jan 21: Pakistan Bar Council on Wednesday called for a country-wide strike on Jan 23 to express solidarity with nuclear scientists and officials of the Khan Research Laboratories staff besides protesting against what he termed the government's humiliatory attitude towards them.

Vice-Chairman of the Pakistan Bar Council Qazi Mohammad Anwar asked lawyers' bodies all over the country to observe strike after 10:30am on Jan 23 to condemn the government for harassing the scientists.

Our Quetta correspondent adds: The Balochistan Bar Association will boycott courts and observe Solidarity Day on Friday in support of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan and other Khan Research Laboratories scientists and officials. BBA President Mohammad Mohsin Javed said in a statement on Wednesday that their arrests was shameful.
