KHAAR, Jan 21: Political Agent Pirzada Khan said on Wednesday that the administration had taken several steps to ensure that all children of school-going age were enrolled in schools this year.

Speaking at a press briefing here on Wednesday, Pirzada Khan said that the measures taken to admit all the children in schools this year would raise the literacy rate in the agency. He said that those teachers who ensured enrolment of all the children in schools in the respective areas would be given cash rewards.

The PA said that around one million saplings would be planted in the agency this year. Mr Pirzada Khan said that the administration had succeeded in destroying the poppy crop grown over 4,400 kanals with the cooperation of local tribal elders and maliks. He said that the anti-poppy campaign would continue till the banned crop was completely uprooted from the agency.
