Hearing of APNS plea adjourned

ISLAMABAD, Jan 14: The Supreme Court on Wednesday adjourned hearing of an All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) petition challenging the constitution of the Wage Board till last week of January.

When an apex court bench, comprising Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry and Justice Tanvir Ahmad, took up the petition on Wednesday, it was informed that advocate Abdul Hafeez Pirzada, main counsel in the case, was on general adjournment.

The court ordered that the case be listed in the week starting from Jan 26. Senior counsel Abid Hasan Manto, Raja Akram and Akram Sheikh were present in the court to defend the Wage Board award. The petitioner society was represented by advocate Afzal Siddiqui.
