RAWALPINDI, Jan 12: Test discard Hasan Raza propelled Habib Bank to an imposing 314 for seven with an impressive unconquered knock of 147 at the start of the Patron's Trophy Pool 'B' match against ZTBL at the KRL Stadium on Monday.

Habib Bank indeed owed their big total to Hasan who smashed 14 hits to the ropes in what was a blazing knock. He lent stability to the innings after his team at one stage were 122 for six.

Hasan, who notched his 16th hundred in first-class cricket, scored 120 against Allied Bank in the first round four weeks ago. Habib Bank could have finished the day in an even better position had ZTBL skipper Rao Iftikhar not restricted them. Continuing his fine run with the red cherry, he captured five wickets, conceding 102 runs in 24 overs, of which two were maiden. He had so far taken 28 wickets in the current national championship and is just three short of 200 career wickets. The other batsman to do well was former Test wicket-keeper Atiq-uz-Zaman who scored 64.
