KARACHI: Repairs of roads in Gulberg launched

KARACHI, Jan 12: Sindh Planning and Development Minister Shoaib Ahmed Bukhari on Monday inaugurated road repair work and uplift scheme in Gulberg Town, proposed by MPA Imamuddin Shahzad under MPAs Preferential Programme 2002-03.

Under the scheme, to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs3.2 million, the repair and reconstruction of roads would be undertaken from Mughal House to Samanabad, Block-17 and on Old-Cafe Mannan, Block-26, Super-in, Block 20 and DT Road, Block-19, Gulberg Town.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that people of Sindh had been reposing their trust in Muttahida Qaumi Movement, as it believed in serving masses practically, instead of politicizing the issues.

Terming a Samanabad primary school burden on government exchequer, as only a few children were registered there, while nine teachers were appointed, Mr Bukhari ordered to convert it into a girls college. He directed the MPA to finalize the paperwork for the proposed college, to ensure its inclusion in the projects of 2004-05.-PPI
