OKARA: Salesman shot dead by robbers

OKARA, Jan 12: A biscuit salesman was shot dead by robbers at 67-A Khokhar Kothi village, on Monday. Reports said Niamat and his brother, Amanat, were on their way to the village for routine business when three armed men, on a motorcycle, signalled them to stop. As the salesmen accelerated speed of the two-wheeler, the armed men opened fire on them, killing Niamat on the spot. However, his brother remained unhurt.

BODY FORMED: District Nazim Syed Sajjad Haider has constituted a seven-member committee to look into the complaints that powdered milk was being prepared with chemicals not fit for human consumption. It would be headed by Deepalpur Tehsil Nazim Mian Khurram Jehangir Wattoo.
