RAWALPINDI: Woman dies after falling from roof

RAWALPINDI, Jan 12: A woman died after falling from the roof of her house in Haripura Mohallah in the jurisdiction of Banni police station on Monday. Abida Bibi, mother of three, suffered critical head injuries and multiple fractures when she fell from the roof of her house. Abida was shifted to Rawalpindi General Hospital where she died.

The husband of the deceased, Mohammad Riaz, recorded his statement with the Banni police, saying that his wife was a patient and she frequently experienced fits. On Monday afternoon, Abida along with her family was sitting on the roof when she had a fit and fell from the roof.

Meanwhile, three robbers entered the house of an Income Tax officer in Ganjmandi and deprived him of cash and gold ornaments. Malik Taskeen lodged a complaint with the police, stating that three persons entered his house and held the inmates hostage at gunpoint. The robbers snatched gold ornaments and Rs52,000 in cash from the family and escaped after locking the inmates in a room.
