ISLAMABAD, Jan 9: Pakistan has opened up all sectors for fresh investments without any restrictions and discrimination regarding the investment and privatization opportunities being extended to reach the private sector.
This was stated by Privatization and Investment Minister Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh during a meeting with ambassador of Tunisia to Pakistan, Lamine Benzarti, who called on the minister here on Friday.
The minister said Pakistan provided attractive privatization and investment programmes with remarkable incentives for local and foreign investors. He said that series of overseas investment conferences were providing an opportunity to the business groups and the investors to identify their fields of interest and to boost the economic ties. There was a need to accelerate the pace of trade, investment and economic interaction between both the countries, he added.
"We are marketing our privatization programme smoothly and successfully due to improvement in the investment climate at home and better image of the country at abroad. The process of privatization is simple and most transparent," he said.
