First gold medal for Sindh

KARACHI, Jan 7: Sindh clinched their first gold in National shooting championship when it topped in skeet team event on the fifth day at Naval Range on Wednesday.

Sindh trio of Amin Karamat, Babur Baig and Ahmed Sultan mustered 212 out of 225 points to annex the gold. Navy's S.A.Noor, Muhammad Sahfiq and Imran-ul-Haq collected 201/225 for a silver and Balochistan secured bronze with Aamir Ali, Abdul Hakeem and Asad securing 196/225 .

In the skeet individual contest, Amin of Sindh was leading with 73/75 after three rounds. Babur of Sindh was placed second with 71/75 with Muhammad Shafiq in third place having collected 70/75.

Zahid Ali of Navy snatched the gold after a close competition in centre-fire pistol. Zahid secured 577/600 to grab the gold with Irshad taking the silver with difference of one points at 576/600 and Mustaqeem Shah from Army picking the bronze with 569/600.

Navy also pocketed the centre-fire pistol gold with 1714/1800. Army got the silver with 1662/1800 and PAF took the bronze with 1631/1800. Navy's Ayaz Tahir claimed the three position air rifle gold with score of 1219.3/1309. His team-mate Dawood Jan got silver with 1215.1/1309 and Muhammad Kaleem bagged the bronze with 1206.4/1309.

Navy also secured the gold in three position air rifle gold, Army claimed the silver and PAF collected the bronze medal.
