PPP expels 3 MPAs

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Jan 1: The People's Party Parliamentarians on Thursday expelled two of its members in the Sindh Assembly and one in the Punjab Assembly for voting in favour of President Pervez Musharraf on Thursday.

A party announcement in Islamabad said PPP president Amin Fahim had taken the action against Sindh MPAs Sohrab Sarki and Bano Saghir and Punjab MPA Moeen Riaz Qureshi, with the consent of party chairperson Benazir Bhutto.

It quoted a party spokesman as saying that the three members had "deviated from the basic principles of the party and became tools of the military dictator therefore the basic membership of these three lawmakers is terminated immediately."
