MIRPURKHAS, Dec 27: District Nazim Pir Shafqat Hussain Shah Jilani has said that Rs37.9 million have been allocated for various schemes of the Citizen Community Boards, Mirpurkhas, to provide basic facilities to the people. He said this while presiding over a meeting of the CCB on Friday.
Chairmen of 12 CCBs out of 24 submitted 19 development schemes which were approved and would be sent to the district council for final approval.
The district Nazim advised the board to fix two schemes on priority and deposit 20 per cent of the cost in the bank account of the board.
He directed EDO (Works and Services) Mir Aijaz Ali Talpur to conduct a survey of the proposed schemes and submit a report of estimated costs in 15 days.
The director, monitoring and planning, local government, Dr Sikandar Ali Panhwar said that the provincial government had released Rs325 million for development schemes of the CCBs and added that further amount would also be allocated.
ASSAULTED: Two unidentified men criminally assaulted a six- year-old girl after kidnapping her from ward No7, Kot Ghulam Mohammad, on Friday evening.
Her family mounted a search but failed to find her. After about 24 hours, she was found at Degan road where the kidnappers had left her.
On registration of an assault case by her father, Muneer Ahmed, the Kot Ghulam Mohammad police brought the girl to the Civil Hospital for medical examination. The examination report was awaited till the filing of this report.
