PESHAWAR, Dec 22: Two people were killed and 11 others injured when a passenger van fell into a ravine on the Jamrud Road on Sunday evening.

Witnesses and hospital sources said the van (DIR-451) was on its way to the general bus stand from Karkhano Market. When it reached near the Hayatabad intersection the driver lost control over the steering wheel and the van fell into the ravine, they added.

Mohammad Humayun, a resident of Khazana Payan, and Siyar, an Afghan refugee, were killed. Eleven passengers suffered injuries and were taken to the Hayatabad Medical Complex.

Van driver fled. The police registered an FIR.

Meanwhile, 17 people were injured when a passenger van, going to the Shabqadar Fort from Charsadda, hit a vehicle near the Naguman Bridge.
