ISLAMABAD Dec 12: Representatives of both the government and the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal on Friday expressed serious doubts about the possibility of presentation of the constitutional package in parliament before the expiry of the alliance’s Dec 17 deadline.

Senator S.M. Zafar expressed his total unawareness about any ongoing exercise for the preparation of a consensus constitutional package as had been claimed by the PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat on Wednesday.

He said that contentious issues had to be settled prior to preparation of the bill before the preparation of the bill.

He said: “It will not take more than a couple of days to finalize the document as many things have already been settled.”

Deputy chief of Jamaat-i-Islami Senator Prof Khurshid Ahmed, who had a chat in the Senate with Senator S.M. Zafar on Friday, said that MMA leaders would decide about its future strategy in the wake of Maulana Noorani’s demise in the next few days.
