ISLAMABAD, Dec 8: A business delegation led by United Kingdom (UK) minister of state for foreign and commonwealth affairs (incharge of trade, trade policy, South East Asia, South Asia and Afghanistan, North America) Mike O’ Brien is scheduled to arrive here on Tuesday to discuss with his Pakistani counterpart various measures to increase the volume of trade between the two countries.
Official sources told Dawn on Monday that during the two- day stay in Pakistan, the visiting UK trade minister would meet the representatives from the private sector and the Commerce Minister, Humayun Akhtar Khan to discuss with them various steps for enhancement of trade between the two countries.
The business delegation from the UK would participate in an investment conference in Pakistan to familiarise themselves with the domestic economic policies and steps taken to promote foreign investment in Pakistan. The conference is scheduled to be held on December 9.
It is being organized by the Board of Investment and the Privatization Ministry.
