KARACHI, Dec 8: Five vessels carrying containers and chemicals are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was relatively slow where three ships, PONL Nelson, Tiger Pearl and Ocean Starlight were berthed to unload and load containers after the departure of as many.

The ships, which departed included Kota Teguh, Pacific Express and Lady Elena, while Tiger Pearl, Badulu Valley, Ocean Starlight and PONL Nelson are due to sail out on Tuesday.

Owing to larger handling of the liquid cargo, total tonnage rose to 0.104m tons comprising 8,149 tons of export cargo and 95,533 tons of import tonnage including 67,716 tons of oils.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Nur Yanbu, with chemicals, Global Paramount, APL Jakarta, Oriental Bright and Beliz Urkmez, with containers.
