KARACHI, Dec 4: Four ships carrying containers, general cargo and tallow are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

For the second day in a row, berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where seven ships were berthed. They are: Sheng He, Hyundai Advance, to unload and load containers, Heng Shan to offload and load general cargo, Badulu Valley, to unload soyabean meal, Jaipur to load rice, Commo-Jc-Jimenez, to unload crude oil and Emblem to offload palm oil.

Five ships, Global Progress, Sheng He, Asirat, APL Emerald and Campodove, departed on Thursday, while Mercs Sajinda, Denise, Dubai, Emblem and Commo-Jc-Jimenez are due to sail out on Friday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained at a brisk pace as the total tonnage rose to 99,440 tons comprising 8,840 tons of export cargo including 926 tons of rice and 90,600 tons of import tonnage, which also included 48,000 tons of liquid tonnage.

The following ships are due on Friday: Wehr Havel, with containers, Pacific Express, Stamatina-P with general cargo and Botany Treasure, with tallow.
