KARACHI, Dec 1: High-level delegation of Bangladeshi businessmen will soon visit Pakistan to exploit trade potential.

This was informed by Bangladeshi High Commissioner A.F. Shamim Ahmed in a meeting with members of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry here on Monday.

He also invited Pakistani businessmen to visit his country at the earliest. About five-year multiple entry visa for businessmen, the BD high commissioner proposed that the FPCCI should make a formal representation to his government for a decision thereon.

FPCCI President Riaz Ahmed Tata recommended the launching of a direct container service between the two countries to reduce cost and time of transportation of exportable goods.

The FPCCI chief suggested some other measures to facilitate rapid promotion of bilateral trade between Pakistan and Bangladesh. These include: formulation and effective implementation of joint trade promotion strategy for rapid increase in scope and value of bilateral trade; launching of Pakistan-Bangladesh Business Council; bonded warehousing facility in Bangladesh for Pakistani goods like in Dubai and Sharjah; more joint ventures in textile production and services.—APP
