KARACHI: Man shot dead by robbers

KARACHI, Nov 21: A middleaged man died when he tried to resist armed men in Lyari on Friday.

Police said Ram Chand, 40, an employee in a transport company in Lyari, was intercepted by two armed men who demanded cash from him near Art Chowk, Lyari, in the limits of Kalakot police station.

As he tried to resist them, they shot him and fled from the spot.

The victim was taken to the Civil Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

ACCIDENT: An unidentified young boy died in a road accident in SITE.

Police said a four-year-old boy was crossing the main road near Habib Bank Chowrangi when a speeding minibus knocked him down.

The young boy died on the spot. His body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for postmortem.

Police said the errant driver escaped after the accident.

A young woman died in a road accident in Garden police limits on Friday.

Police said that Kiran, 30, was crossing road near Shoe Market when she was knocked down by a speeding truck. Police said the errant driver escaped from the spot along with the vehicle.
