Power tariff cut notified

ISLAMABAD, Nov 2: The federal government on Thursday formally notified an average seven paisa per unit reduction in power tariff with effect from Nov 1, 2003, a senior government official told Dawn.

Under the notification, which was sent on Thursday evening for printing, the power tariff for residential, AJK and agricultural consumers has been reduced by 4.42 paisa per unit. Similarly, the tariff for commercial, industrial and bulk consumers has been brought down by 11.04 paisa per unit.

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) had determined this tariff reduction on Oct 1 under the quarterly fuel adjustment formula.
