PSF AGM to discuss vital issues

By Our Sports Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Nov 20: The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) being held in Rawalpindi on Saturday is likely to approve formation of a tournament committee, authorised to decide which player competes where.

The committee, officials said on Thursday, is to be constituted for the specific purpose of facilitating the players and helping them in obtaining visas etc. “The players who send in their entries for international tournaments themselves, often fail to get visas and end up losing vital points,” said an official.

The players would also be part of the committee and their consent would be given due importance, the official said.

The AGM to be chaired by Air Chief Marshal Kalim Sadaat, the PSF president, will also discuss granting extension to national coach Rehmat Khan.

The meeting is also likely to finalise the national and international calendar besides approving the budget for the year 2003-04.

Preparations for next month’s World Open in Lahore are also to be reviewed while the senior vice president of the federation Air Marshal Rashid Kalim will present a report on the previous activities and tournaments organised by the PSF.
