KARACHI: Nov 15: The Sindh cabinet has lifted ban on the recruitment of teaching and non-teaching staff in the provincial education department

that will be filled through the departmental committees instead of the Public Service Commission.

The cabinet meeting which was held on Saturday reviewed major issues including the forthcoming meeting regarding the NFC award and the sugar cane crisis.

The cabinet discussed the recruitment issue over a summary moved by Education Minister Irfanullah Marwat, which said that schools were facing numerous problems due to shortage of essential teaching and non-teaching staff. The cabinet decided to lift ban on the recruitment of staff in grade 11 to 16.

Senior Minister Sardar Ahmed informed the cabinet about his course of action for the November 18 NFC meeting, where he would demand a revision in the formula for the NFC award.—PPI
