KARACHI, Nov 7: Sindh Chief Minister Sardar Ali Mohammed Mahar on Friday said that the provincial government would fully support and protect the growers’ interests.
Talking to newsmen at an Iftar reception hosted by his advisor on political affairs, Ghulam Hussain Unar, the chief minister said the government would not adopt any policy against the interests of farmers and the millers.
He said the allied ruling parties were doing their best to serve the people of the province.
He said a number of steps, including the constitution of an Investment Board, had been taken by the government to facilitate investors in the province. The investment Board would provide one-window facility to the investors, he added.
The chief minister said that the government was promoting industries in the rural areas of the province to discourage the trend of migration of rural people to urban areas. The Iftar was attended by Sindh cabinet ministers, advisors and other officials of the provincial government.
Meanwhile, the CM, talking to an eight-member delegation of women lawyers, led by Ms Zaib advocate, which called on him, said that women had an important place in the society and they were serving in every walk of life which was remarkable.
The CM said that women were being provided opportunities to participant in every field in Sindh, however, there was a need for adopting integrated policies for the welfare and development of the country.
Referring to the Women Development Ministry, he said that provincial government had introduced a separate ministry to resolve the problems of women on priority basis.—APP/PPI
