Administrator for KRC

KARACHI, Nov 5: Faqir Aitzazuddin has been appointed Administrator of the Karachi Race Club (KRC), with immediate effect, according to a Sindh Government notification issued on Wednesday.

Popularly known as Jaja Mia in the sporting circles, Faqir apart from being a well-known polo player was also a first class cricketer and former manager of the Pakistan cricket team.

The provincial government resorted to this action after several reports were issued in the newspapers of manipulations and bungling which went unchecked at the Karachi Race Club.

Things got so bad at the KRC, that only last Sunday, jockey M. Waseem leapt from the raging favourite Sher Zai during the race and pretending to be injured, was rushed off in the KRC ambulance to the hospital from where he disappeared, destination unknown.
