Stability pact
BERLIN, Nov 5: The European Stability and Growth Pact, which sets tight limits on the public spending of eurozone governments, would be weakened if it were applied in a “mechanical” way, German Finance Minister Hans Eichel said on Wednesday.
“The pact would be weakened if it were interpreted and applied as a simple mechanical procedure,” Eichel said in a speech here at the Humboldt University here.—AFP
