India frees 93 Pakistani fishermen

NEW DELHI, Nov 4: India on Tuesday released 93 Pakistani fishermen languishing in various Indian jails, who would be handed over to the Pakistani authorities on Wednesday.

Pakistan has also released 74 Indian fishermen, who would be exchanged for the Pakistani fishermen on Wednesday at the International water border, sources said here.

The 93 fishermen, released from Bhuj, Jamnagar, Jungadh and Porbandar jails were brought to the Okha port in two buses by noon, sources at the Fisheries Department have been quoted as saying.

All paper work and formalities about the release of the fishermen were completed before they were handed over to the Pakistani marine officials along with their boats, added the sources.—APP
