15 companies join NCSS

LAHORE, Oct 23: Another 15 companies joined the National Clearing & Settlement System (NCSS) of the Central Depository Company, increasing the number of securities settled through NCSS to 331 from the previous 316.

A news release issued by the CDC on Thursday said these new entrant securities would be eligible for transaction through NCSS from Oct 27.

The newly inducted companies include Shafi Chemical Industries Ltd, Modaraba Al-Tijarah, Safeway Mutual Fund Ltd, Mirza Sugar Mills Ltd, Pangrio Sugar Mills Ltd, Jubilee spinning & Weaving Mills Ltd, Safa Textile Mills Ltd, Idrees Textile Mills Ltd, Kohat Textile Mills Ltd, Landmark Spinning Industries Ltd, Olympia Textile Mills Ltd, Regent Textile Industries Ltd, Shaheen Cotton Mills Ltd, Sajjad Textile Mills Ltd and Kashmir Edible Oils Ltd.

In view of increasing number of securities joining NCSS, a successful stress testing exercise of NCSS software and hardware was conducted last week to check capability of the newly installed server machine and modified software.
