KARACHI, Oct 20: The President of Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman has announced formation of a skill development committee with Mr Owais Aslam Ali, managing editor, Pakistan Press International, and Mr Mahmood-ul-Aziz, editor, Pictorial News Review, as its convener and co-convener, respectively.

The members of committee include Chief Editor, Daily Sahafat (Islamabad) Kushnood Ali Khan; Chief Editor, Qaumi Akhbar (Karachi) Ilyas Shakir; Chief Editor, Daily Awam (Quetta) Waseem Ahmed; Chief Editor, monthly Shahrug-i-Pakistan, Khalid Mahmood Shah; Chief Editor, Daily Kaleem (Sukkur) Javed Mehr Shamsi; Chief Editor, monthly Nai Ufaq (Karachi) Mushtaq Qureshi; Chief Editor, Daily Wahdat (Peshawar) Peer Sufaid Shah; Editor, Rohani Digest (Karachi) Waqar Yousuf Azeemi; Editor, Kiran Digest (Karachi) Aamir Mehmood and Editor, Daily Beupar, Younus Riaz.

The committee will arrange various training programmes, seminars and workshops for journalists.—PPI
