KARACHI: SPSC recommendations being followed: CM

KARACHI, Oct 20: Sindh Chief Minister Sardar Ali Mohammad Khan Mahar on Monday said the provincial government was taking steps for good governance, justice, and provision of basic facilities and ensuring public participation in development schemes.

He was talking to a 17-member delegation of the Federal and Provincial Public Service Commissions at the chief minister house.

He said the Sindh government wanted talented and competent candidates in government jobs and it sought professional and experienced officers for contractual employment.

He maintained that the Sindh Public Service Commission was discharging its responsibilities under its prescribed programme and rules and regulations.

He deplored that a large number of educated people, even from rural areas, were unwilling to work in villages and developing parts of the country.

The chief minister said the recommendations of the Sindh Public Service Commission about appointment of lecturers in the province were being followed and lectures hired on a contract basis would be required to contact the Public Service Commission within a year for regularization of their services under the rules and regulations.

OTHER DELEGATIONS: Talking to delegations from Sukkur, Ghotki, Larkana, Sanghar, Naushehro Feroz, Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad and Badin at the chief minister house, Mr Mahar said his government was doing its utmost to solve the problems of the people.

He said Keenjhar and Manchhar lakes were being developed so that tourism could be promoted in the province.—PPI
