2 killed; shoe store looted

RAWALPINDI, Oct 12: Two persons were killed while a shoe store was looted in Saddar in separate incidents on Sunday, police said.

In the first incident, Ferzand Ali, who was mentally sick, committed suicide by shooting himself with a pistol in his house at Rawat on Sunday.

In the second incident, an unidentified aged man was killed after being run over by a speeding vehicle in RA Bazaar police area.

Zahid Abbasi, the owner of a shoe store, told the Cantonment police that three persons entered his shop and, at gunpoint, looted Rs10,000 in cash, dozens of pair of shoes, a television set and a fax machine, the police said.

Meanwhile, three vehicles were stolen from different areas of Islamabad, the police said.

Mohammad Yunus’s motorbike (FDZ-634) was stolen from his house in the Kohsar police area, while Mushtaq Ali Zaka’s Suzuki van (IDC-6073) was stolen outside his house in Golra police jurisdiction. A Suzuki car (LHJ-238) was lifted from Margalla police area.
