KARACHI, Oct 8: A youth was shot dead near a spare parts market in Risala police limits Wednesday evening, police said.

The 25-year-old victim, Imran Tufail, lived near Noor Masjid, Jubilee area, and was believed to have been killed on personal enmity, they added. The police claimed that he was wanted in some cases and had a number of petty crimes in his account, such as theft and snatching of jewellry from women. Imran had earlier been sent abroad by his family but he returned home about a week back.

His body was handed over to his family after autopsy at civil hospital.

FOUND DEAD: A rickshaw driver was found dead in his vehicle in Nazimabad on Wednesday. Unknown killers had slit his throat.

Police said that Gul Rahim, 30, a resident of Qasba Colony, was found dead on the driving seat of his rickshaw (D-15747), parked near Nazimabad No.1 traffic intersection.

His body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for postmortem examination.

Body of a watchman was found in an open plot in sector M of Shershah on Wednesday. Unknown killers had slit his throat. Police said the victim was identified as Jasim Khan, 60, who was hired by one, Syed Asghar Ali Shah.

ACCIDENT: A 30-year-old man, Shahzad, died when the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a long vehicle near Gujjar Nullah in Nazimabad on Wednesday.

Police said he died on the spot and the body was later shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

The driver of the long vehicle escaped from the scene, they added.

ROBBERY: Unidentified armed men struck at the office of the city government’s charged parking officials near Jheel Park, Tariq Road, and took away Rs772,320 on Tuesday.

According to the Ferozabad police, Abdul Jaleel, a driver posted at the charged parking office on Tariq Road, lodged a complaint about the robbery. He stated that a gang of four armed men broke into the office while he and other staff were present there. The gang held them hostage, collected the cash box and escaped.

According to the police, the robbers used an official vehicle to make their escape good.

In Khayaban-i-Rahat, DHA, armed men robbed a family of an unspecified amount of local and foreign currency as well as gold ornaments worth over one million rupees early Wednesday.
