KARACHI: Intermediate commerce results announced


KARACHI, Oct 8: The Board of Intermediate Education (BIEK) on Wednesday announced the results of the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC-II), Intermediate Class XII, annual examinations 2003, taken by private candidates of Commerce group.

Zainab Hafeez, d/o Abdul Hafeez, roll no 132867, bagged first position by securing 846 marks, Mohammad Rizwan, s/o Mohammad Farooq, roll no 131989, clinched second position by acquiring 797 marks, and Sheraz, s/o Mohammad Siddique, roll no 131186, bagged third position by securing 791 marks.

According to the statistics of results, some 6,039 candidates registered themselves with the BIEK, of which 5,849 appeared and a total of 1,696 candidates were declared passed. The pass percentage remained 29 per cent.

Gender-wise statistics revealed that some 1,124 female candidates were registered with the BIEK, 1,093 of them appeared and 425 were declared passed in the exams. The pass percentage among female candidates remained 38.88 per cent.

Some 4,915 male candidates registered themselves with BIEK exams department, of whom 4,756 appeared and only 1,271 of them were declared passed in the exams. The pass percentage among male candidates remained 26.72 per cent.

No candidate was able to pass the examination in A-1 grade, only 11 candidates, including four male and seven female, cleared the exams in A grade.—PPI
