KARACHI: Cultural exchanges for better ties stressed


KARACHI, Oct 7: Cultural exchanges can help further strengthen the friendly relations between Pakistan and Japan.

This was stated by Sindh Minister for Culture and Tourism Shabbir Ahmed Qaimkhani while speaking as the chief guest at the annual general body meeting of the Pakistan Japan Cultural Association (PJCA), a statement said here on Tuesday.

The minister said the cultural ties brought the two peoples closer and also contributed to the process of development and prosperity.

He also lauded the role being played by the PJCA.

Mr Qaimkhani assured the association of his full cooperation in its activities. He pointed to the close economic and commercial relations between Pakistan and Japan and said they would continue to strengthen.

The consul-general of Japan in Karachi, Kanji Hanagata, presented the welcome address.

He vowed to pursue the new projects initiated for further cementing the ties between the two countries.

Mr Hanagata also spoke on the matter pertaining to an exchange of cultural delegations. — APP
