LTTE allows Muslims to live near camp

By Our Correspondent

COLOMBO, Oct 7: The LTTE had agreed to allow Muslim farmers to engage in paddy cultivation up to 50 metres from the controversial Kinniya camp, the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission said on Monday.

The LTTE Political Wing leader last week claimed in an interview with Dawn at the LTTE headquarters that the LTTE would ‘prove’ its stance to the Muslims by its immediate future actions.

At the end of the second day of talks between LTTE leaders in Ireland there were indications that the rebels would make a return to the negotiating table to talk with the United National Front government.
