Traders asked to invest in Kashgar

By Our Staff Reporter

LAHORE, Oct 2: Chinese businessmen have urged their Pakistani counterparts to introduce their products in Kashgar to create balance of trade between the two countries.

Speaking to businessmen at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry here on Thursday, leader of a 12-member Chinese trade delegation Yang Gui Xin invited the Pakistani businessmen to visit Kashgar to explore the possibilities of enhancing trade.

Mr Xin also called upon the national airlines of the two countries to extend their operations to Kashgar rather than confining them to Urmouchi only. “Direct and frequent availability of transportation would certainly create healthy impact on economic cooperation,” he said.

Earlier, LCCI president Anjum Nisar expressed his concern over the ever-widening trade gap of $347 million in favour of China. He said there was an urgent need to introduce Pakistan and its products in China to bridge this gap. He said only the direct contacts between the businessmen of the two countries would open up new opportunities of trade.
