Nadra asked to issue cards in 15 days

By Our Staff Reporter

LAHORE, Oct 1: Minister for Interior Faisal Saleh Hayat has directed National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) administration to provide computerized national identity cards (CNIC) within 15 days to the applicants who have submitted their forms during the last two months.

The minister issued the directions during a surprise visit to Nadra and Passport offices here on Wednesday.

He heard complaints of people present there at that time for around an hour and issued on the spot directives for the solutions of the same.

He directed the Passport Office administration to set up a separate counter for women.

Seeking removal of agents from outside the Passport Office, he directed that office staff should be deputed there for the guidance of people.

Some people requested issuance of passports on the basis of old identity cards, but the minister declined to issue any directive in this regard quoting security reasons.

He, however, assured the people that he would soon personally visit all Nadra and Passport offices across the country in a bid to solve the problems being faced by the people there.
