Karachi Port operations

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Sept 29: Eight ships carrying containers, guar meal and to load naphtha are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest owing to slow arrivals over the last couple of days. As a result, four ships, Kota Teraju, Izumo to unload and load containers, Shalamar to offload crude oil and Sapphire to offload chemicals were berthed after the departure of Tai Gu He.

Five others vessels including Flame, Izumo, Mercs Komari, Shalamar and Kota Wangi are due to sail out on Tuesday.

Cargo handling activity at the oil piers was maintained on the higher side thanks to larger handling of liquid tonnage. The total tonnage rose to 77,085 tons comprising 15,897 tons of export cargo and 61,188 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Estella, to load 14,700 tons of naphtha, Ocean Luna, APL Shangai, Global Prosperity, Sinar Bangka, Lt.Grand, with containers, Mercs Komari and Albatros, with 1,700 and 5,000 tons of soyabean oil respectively.
