KARACHI: 90 vehicles taken away in a week

KARACHI, Sept 28: Ninety vehicles — 31 cars and 59 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in different localities in the metropolis during the past one week.

According to police statistics, 17 cars were taken away at gunpoint and 14 others stolen in Gulistan-i-Johar, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Saddar, Clifton, North Nazimabad etc.

Twenty-one motorbikes were hijacked and 38 stolen in many areas including North Karachi, North Nazimabad, Korangi, Landhi, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Saddar, and others.

Police claimed the recovery of 29 stolen cars and 31 motorbikes during the past one week. However, they declined to state how many of them had been handed over to their owners.
