MINGORA, Sept 27: Mingora municipal committee authorities have failed to supply clean drinking water to the people.

In most parts of the locality the people are using contaminated water and in some areas the people have been complaining of finding tinny insects in the water.

Haji Inayatur Rehman, a trader in the main Mingora bazaar, told Dawn here on Thursday that whenever he opened the tap, he found insects in the water.

“We have conveyed our complaints to the authorities concerned of the municipal committee but to no avail,” Haji Inayat-ur-Rehman added.

It was reported that a pipeline and water tank near the People’s Chowk had been damaged and the authorities were well aware of the situation.

The local people are of the opinion that the main reason for the fast spreading hepatitis and other diseases is the contaminated water.

It has been observed that pipelines have been damaged at different places in the Mingora City, which is causing wastage of water.

It has also been observed that in most parts of locality water pipes are passing through the gutter lines and in case of any damage to the drinking water pipeline they suck up the dirty water.
