ISLAMABAD, Sept 27: The Ministry of Commerce has directed the Central Board of Revenue (CBR) to propose 6 items for removing from the negative list of Afghan Transit Trade (ATT).

Officials told Dawn on Saturday that the CBR had been asked to select only those items, which had lesser revenue implications.

It would be ensured that the items to be removed from the negative list were not prone to smuggling, the officials said.

According to the officials, these items would be soon sent to the Economic Coordination Committee of the cabinet for approval.

The government has already removed 8 items from the negative list of ATT at the persistent demand of Afghan government. Currently only 16 items were placed under the ATT negative list.
